Question by : How to stop earthworms from infesting garden pond? Smell is unbearable.?
I recently put in a small water feature. I made a small stream into water fall into a small garden pond, about 100 gallons. The problem is every day, dozens, if not hundreds of earthworms migrate into the pond and drown, leaving a horrible smell. Is there anything I can do to stop them?

Fish. They’ll eat them and make your pond look pretty.

Sounds like you have very healthy garden soil, but possibly it is a little dry. I would get gold fish to eat the worms and also add beneficial bacteria to the water to break down the dead one. you can get the bacteria at your local pond store. Also, now that you have water, you may start attracting frogs or toads which will eat many of the worms before they get into the water.
