Question by 1873teddy: I have a very wet area at the far end of my garden, what suggestions do people have for getting the best usage?
How easy would it be to make a natural pond for example? Or what other things could I do to make the most of damp/boggy grass area?

Thank you in advance!

You can put in a underground drainage system to drain out the standing water. Then get a bunch of fill to bring it up to existing level with the surrounding area. Or if you want a pond, just dig it out with a front end loader and line it with rocks and put in some nice koi fish.

  1. Woodie. says:

Make a bog garden Incorporate bamboo,(Scores of varieties).
    Astilbes,
    Caltha,the kingcup,Hemerocallis,
    Hostas,
Iris,(Again scores of varieties and colours
    Primulas.
    Water lilies,if there’s a little standing water.
Making a pond can be quite difficult. It’s hard work shovelling wet soil. However butyl rubber lliners are readily available. It would be easiest to plant direct and appear more natural.
