Would like the pond to be self suffient ie; no filters or pumps etc. Has anybody got any good advice please

Nope, sure don’t I have been fighting this losing battle for years, no matter what you do they will always turn green, sorry that’s just the way it is. However I have found out that if you get potted water grasses and set themn into the pond and get koi the make it look nice so you can look past the ugly green.

    get some cheap goldfish yes the little feeders will work fine, when the nitrites and nitrates finally balance the water will clear up.
