Question by Veni, vici, Vetinari: what do you think about moving the Ancistrus/Plecos into the garden pond for the summer season?
there’s quite a lot of algae buildup there, and none of our native fish eats them. Garden pond, as artificial water body; it would definitely be feasible to rehome the fish into heated tank when cold days come again.

As long as the water heats up enough. You may try getting a bunch of american flag fish. They devour algae and are great in warm ponds in the summer. In any case, it’s going to be very difficult to catch the fish in the fall if you plan on bringing them inside, unless you are draining the pond.
