We built our own filter. I suppose it depends on how big your pond is. We used a 1/3hp pump picking the water from the far end of the pond. it goes through the pump and into a raised 100 gal. fiberglass stock tank at the bottom drain. The stock tank is filled with fiber filter material. There is a spillway out and into another100 gal fiberglass stock tank that is slightly raised as a settling tank. It also has a cut area that has a spillway onto a liner piece that directs it into the pond. It adds filtered water and aeration to the pond and some current. This is where our Koi expect to be fed.
